Guaranteed universal life is a blend of term line and permanent life. Term covers the insured for a specific number of years where as guaranteed universal life cover the insured up to a specific age.

The policy owner chooses the age till when the coverage is required. The age could go up to 121 years. GUL does not have any cash value and it focuses on the death benefit. Some people may also get this as a final expense insurance.

The premiums are more affordable than any other permanent policy as it does not offer the cash value feature. The premiums are higher as compared to the term policy because it does not expire and goes up to the age as chosen by the policy owner.
